Theory exam on your own, practical through a school, or converting a foreign licence — none of it moves forward without this certificate. It's the one requirement that applies to literally everyone.
Who issues it
Only an authorised driver medical assessment centre — a regular GP or health clinic can't issue this one.
How long it lasts
90 days from issue for use in a DGT exam application. Miss the window and you need a new one.
What it's for
Theory exam (independent or through a school), practical exam, licence renewal, and any foreign licence conversion.
What to bring
Valid ID, NIE, or passport. The test itself is quick — vision, hearing, reflexes — not a full medical check-up.
